ECS is very proud to announce that their Preferred Supplier Kärcher won again after 2020 the German Sustainability Award 2022 for its exemplary use of resources. The independent jury of twelve experts from various fields chose Kärcher as the winner from the seven finalists. The German Sustainability Award 2022 is Europe’s highest distinction for ecological and social commitment and was presented on 3rd December 2021 in Düsseldorf at the 14th German Sustainability Conference.

In the explanatory statement the jurors highlighted in particular the initiative “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” for cleaning technology. For instance, the proportion of modern recycled plastics in selected Kärcher products will be increased up to 50 percent by 2025. And the experts are also impressed by the numerous initiatives as part of the 2025 Packaging Strategy: for example, intelligent packaging design using very little materials, no polystyrene, use of paper padding instead of plastic padding and more packaging with a high recycled paper content. In addition, the jury points out that Kärcher’s resource strategy is embedded in a comprehensive sustainability concept. This includes free cleaning measures for the preservation of historic monuments and buildings or also the support of green filtration systems, which provide clean water in an ecologically sustainable manner. ECS is committed to working with partners where sustainability and environmental protection play such an important role.
